Time Machine setting 'Back Up Automatically' is backed up as part of system settings. If this setting was set on the backed up Mac so that the Time Machine backups happen automatically, then upon completion of Migration Assistant the backups resume without any intervention. Normally that would be fine, however the Migration Assistant does not appear to verify the reinstalled files against the Time Machine backup and so there is a possibility that some/all user files have not fully restored. This has happened to me, the Migration Assistant was run over night, somehow it didn't manage to recover user data, settings recovered fine, next scheduled Time Machine backup wiped the user data from the backup. - So be aware when using Migration Assistant.
